Is the video game industry bigger than the movie industry?!

Question: In term's of money generated?

Answers: In term's of money generated?

Once a niche market and considered by some as a curiosity in the mid-1970s, the video game industry now takes in USD$10 billion per year worldwide. Contrary to the popular belief, the video game industry is not bigger than Hollywood. The film industry as a whole makes $180 billion per year, while book publishing makes $23 billion per year. (From Wikipedia)

I don't know for certain, but would take an educated guess that movie makes more than video

No way. The video game industry has a much smaller user population than the number of people that go to the movies. Its not even close.

The video game industry has just recently become a billion dollar industry. The movie industry has done this ages ago. The movie industry is also a lot more popular worldwide, and the videogame industry is only popular in some countries.

Jesus NOOOOO!!!! Do you know that alone Titanic has raised a grossing $1.9 Billion or near to and the new Pirates fo the Carribean was like $1.4 billion. Thats just from TWO films. How many people watch movies - millions!!! All over the world and people of all ages buy them and watch them. Target audience for Games are children but a select minority of adults (men) do play them as well. Defintly MOVIES!!!!

i wouldnt say so because they hype like 5 movies a month and like 1 movie a month
