Should the Enterprise NCC-1701 be redesigned for the new Abram's film?!
Question: I say yes. Not because I don't think the original design is iconic, but because when Picard time traveled in First Contact he tainted the timeline. This is why the Enterprise NX-01 looked more advanced and I feel the same should apply to the original.

I think the series should be redesigned, eliminating all the aliens who look like people with latex thingummies stuck onto their noses.
maybe you should go see the remastered "Mangerie" that is at theatres last night and tommorrow night...
they could use it for the design.. its the same ship but much better looking.
besides this is supposed to be their first ship. dont know if it will even be the enterprise.
I don't think it would be or should be redesigned. Picard and crew didn't really taint the timeline, they just stopped it from changing drasticly.
The NX-01 isn't more advanced, they still have button and switch controls. It just looks more advanced because nowadays, they can afford a bigger budget to make tv shows than in the original.
However, I believe that the enterprise in the new film will look alot cleaner and clearer, definatly more detail. Again, this is because they have a bigger budget.
