Fellow fans of Spy movies, who do you prefer...Bond or Bourne?!
Question: Believe it or not, I just watched the Bourne movies, and I am hooked. I have been a James Bond fan since I was a kid; did a college thesis on Bond...but now, I think I may be leaning more towards Jason Bourne...which do you like better? Also do you think it is a coincidence that both heroes initials are J.B.?

I too grew up with James Bond. But Bourne is just a regular guy with no fancy gadgets. I believe that's his appeal. So in answer, Bourne is now my favorite.

ive watched both bond and bourne but i love all the bourne movies. the book are great and i think they did a great job making the films!
I like Bond more, he's far less rough around the edges. Bond's coolness just doesnt end.

I like Bourne because hes better, hes in the present he doesn't usually use high tech devices, it gives up the hope of becoming like him in the future. I don't think its coincidence i think the author of the Bourne series did that on purpose.

Bourne is so far down in the ranks that he doesn't even make a blip! I detest Matt Damon and think these are some of the most boring films ever made about espionage. I honestly kept checking the time during the first installment, halfway wanting it to be over and sort of wondering if it ever was going to pick up. I told friends that it was the most actionless action movie I could remember seeing, and they agreed with me! I have never checked the clock or my watch during any Bond movie, even the ones that I feel are nowhere near films such as "Goldfinger"~some of the Roger Moore ones.
I would rank many other spy/espionage films above Bourne~definitely Mission: Impossible even though I only like the second one in that trilogy~not that the other two are bad, just not as interesting. Honestly, I do not understand the success of Bourne.
Do you really think Bourne will become the franchise that Bond is? I truly doubt it though maybe I could tolerate Bourne if they would get rid of the madly egotistical Matt Damon. YUCK! I detested him in "Good Will Hunting", and he hasn't changed my opinion yet. I don't think Bourne has much in the way of staying power franchisewise.
NOTE: I think the Bond the poster below is trying to recall might be Timothy Dalton. I do have to say this: Daniel Craig~YEESH! That's one Bond film that would be tough to watch repeatedly if I have to look at that face. I really hope he's replaced.
i would say james bond but the bond character is starting to lose his touch. im still a big bond fan but i think jason bourne wins this one

Bond. Pierce Brosnan was the worst by far. Daniel Craig could be the best. Time will tell.
