Saving Private Ryan?!
Question: I just finished watching Saving Private Ryan after about going a year without seeing it. And oh man, it is just so breath-taking, I feel like I am actually there witnessing all of this in the battle. It pisses me off that Tom Hanks did not win the Academy Award for best actor in this movie. How do you feel about Saving Private Ryan, the movie?

I saw on TNT last night as well, but I have seen it before a while ago. I had forgotten how great of a movie it is. I agree, if you cannot cry while watching this movie, you are a heartless person with no soul or integrity in life. I love the ending, when Captain Marshall is about to die, and he says to Private Ryan, "earn this". I honestly don't think that anyone in the world could earn back everything that happened to those 8 soldiers; only 2 of them lived. How do you live a life knowing that 8 people died just make sure you were safe? I'd constantly live in regret and never think that I was worth what happened. And it seems that what happened to Ryan, he doubted himself his whole life, never thinking he earned what happened, and I can infer from that, that he lived a miserable life never accomplishing or amounting to anything like he would have wanted. It's quite sad...
Awesome movie, especially the DDay landing part!!! watch "blackhawk down" - another great war film...

one of the best war movies ever. saving private is just a technical film so there is no good acting chances for tom hanks. ( note: i am die hard fan of tom hanks)
It's one of the best movies about WW2, but "band of brother's" is really good too so if you havent seen it and you liked "saving private ryan" you'll love it

honestly i had never seen it until i watched it on tnt last night. im not a huge war movie fan. i have played the song Hymn To The Fallen from that movie and my teacher kept telling us "its such a good movie. if u can honestly watch this movie without crying u r a truley heartless person" and he was right. i thought it was the best movie i have ever seen
