Answers: Mine is one that sticks to me for weeks and I'm always having visions and nightmares of scenes from that particular movie. Like The Grudge

It′s not Splatter-Movies, cause although they′re a little gross from time to time, I just cant be scared. I know all the "insides-turned-outsides" are not rea, blood is not real - so it doesnt scare me.
What scares me are of course the typical "you know somebodys behind that door but you′ll still jump out of your chair"-scenes, but even more than that it′s a certain "calm tension" - thats what I′ll call it. Like in the movies "The Others" with N.Kidman for example. Stuff like that you know. Sixth Sense was pretty intense too - the first time you watch it anyways.
The Grudge Part 1 scared me - dont really have an explanation why.
It′s kinda sad that a lot of the so-caleld Horror-Movies nowadays arent even scary anymore - to me at least. I love watching them and for the last couple years I′ve been dissapointed about most of them. Either they′re trying to be gross instead of scary or they′re lame. And dont even get me started on lame sequels...

when a certain aspect of the movie makes it into my real life, like after blair witch i didnt want to go into the woods or after the grudge, well i still think small asian kids are creepy

riley, if your a small asian kid, i wouldnt just walk up to you and say hey hows it going, probably just squeeze by you and keep going. I made the sound the kid did to my wife and she started crying, made me sad but it was funny at the same time

Things that could happen. Like Vampires are scary, but not real - at least no one has proven that yet (lol). But Silence of the Lambs - so real. Could happen - scary.

Or if there is a CLOWN - Clowns scare me - do not like them - never - so Poltergeist and IT are scary to me too.

all the saws
ughhhhhh

P.S Hey wiccan ninja, ya scared of me?

something that is truly scary, gripping, keeps you on the edge of your seat, and keeps you guessing.

A sense of "wrongness". The clown from Poltergeist, Something following you home, like The Grudge. Not gross or gory like zombies and vampires but things that definitely shouldn't be, but are. The darkness and sounds in Silent Hill,. You know, things that make your mind hurt.
