Well, It's Complicated, And I Doubt There Will Be Any Answers, But. . .?!

Question: This may sound really weird, but I'm 14 years old, and I want to make a movie. I know exactly what the storyline and the characters are, etc. I want it to be quite long, like a real film.
See, I wrote a story, and I really want to bring it to life. I'm very involved with the characters and sometimes I hear a certain song that just captures the mood in the story, and I'm lost in the music and the emotions the characters go through, and I want others to share in this experience. But I'm not a film director. I'm just a kid! I don't mind if the film is anime or real people or whatever. I just want to know if you have any tips for me, how could I make this film? If I made a cartoon, would I have to draw in every single movement the characters do, or is there a quicker way? I want a high quality movie here, not some weird 60-second stuff. I really appriciate any advice you can give me. Thanks!

Take your work to a theatrical college, a school of film. I'm sure they would be happy with a project that they could assign, or make suggestions as to how to better write your script. If no luck, or no access to such a school, email me. I know one man who creates live action films as a hobby, and another guy whose whole family is into drawing anime, and would probably drool at such a project. He's also quite adept at editing music to anime clips.

you should make it!
go onto casting sites and post a casting call then wait till the mail floods in!
i'm only 13 and yet i'm making a feature film!
it's due out next year, its called the magic of christmas!
i wish you the best of luck!
if you have any q's email me tezadream@hotmail.com
good luck!

hi poppy :)
if i was you, what i would do first is put my ideas down on paper and see if you can make a book from it, this will allow you to develope the characters and improve on the story. take your time in doing it, so you get it right. then when its finished, try and get the book published and then who knows, it may get made into a film :) thats what happened to jk rowling and look at her now :)

Keep polishing it. When you get to college, submit it, when you you take that creative writing course, that you know is in your future. Dont be in a hurry. And by the time you get into a film school,(also in your future), you'll have a head start on a long career. Keep writing!

Hey Poppy

Before you let anyone see the story please please copy write it otherwise someone can use it and claim it to be their own.

Once the story has been copy written you have a number of options depending on how much you want to you want to control it.

I hope I get to read it. Good luck

Save up money and get your friends to act for you... That's pretty much how Kevin Smith started.. (although he was in film school he dropped out and did it himself)
