What did you think of "A scanner darkly"...I thought....?!
Question: it was a biased story with the good old black and white problematic exposed (they're bonkers, they need treatment, but they'll never recover /it's the end of the road for them).
I thought it was a bit...skinny. How about you?

I thought it was great, but it certainly is the kind of movie you need to be in the right mood to see.
I really liked the cinematics of the movie ... but you need to really sit down and WATCH it. Its not a light movie.
It probably doesn't agree with your philophy on drugs, but the author (Philip Dick, I believe) had very bad experiences with both drugs and people who died because of them - he's not likely to be terribly sympathetic to more positive view points.
I thought the story itself was great but the film was actually quite bad and very disappointing. The snazzy cinematics became annoying very quickly.
