If you like comedy, "Evan Almighty" was pretty good. "The Invisible" was kinda slow and really ended terribly.
Donnie Darko is very good but it's more of a thriller.
Try Halloween, or one of the classic horror movies, 1408 is good, so is almost any Stephen king movie..hmm, Dont get 28 days later, VERY boring and slow.. 28 weeks later is good though, OH this zombie movie is crazy, Dawn of the dead, Check that out one.
As of comedies, I'm not too sure,Christmas with the kranks is good, and so is the family stone! Good luck, i hope you find a good one if none of these did it!
