Have you seen "The Squid and the Whale"?!
Question: I started watching "The Squid and the Whale" last night and wound up turning it off after about 30 minutes. I found all the characters to be hateful and I couldn't stand the dad or oldest son - the arrogant intellectualism was a major turn off.
I'm just curious to hear thoughts from anyone else who has seen the movie.

Yes. I watched the movie in its' entirety and I have to agree that the father and son were so full of sh*t that I wanted to rip my face off. However, I think that was actually a major theme in the movie, and if you had continued past the 30 minute mark in the film you would have seen them both torn down from their lofty pedestals. In the end the oldest son realizes what a hack his father is and transitions his life to one of substance. All in all not a bad flick.
