I saw it 3 times in theater and own the movie now. lol The end was a little... ambiguous. I personally thought the movie would have been so much better if they had made a better ending. What I think happened is that when they thought they were actually out of Silent Hill, they really weren't. If you remember that evil look that Sharon gives at the camera near the end? It makes you think that she was actually Alessa and because of it, they aren't completely out of the Silent Hill realm yet. They may even be in another "dimension."
That was the worst movie I've seen in a long time. Makes The Sound of Music seem reasonable.
It seems to me that she died and became a ghost, implying her daughter also died, though that is my interpretation.
it turns out she was dead the whole time. apparently the car crash she was in earlier killed her. so she went back home but as a ghost
i didnt like the ending. too many questions like if they are dead how come they couldnt find the bodies but watever
What I'm supposing is that she and her kid are now living in a parallel world such as Silent Hill...

She became part of that other dimensional place by finding her daughter. Instead of pulling her daughter out, she was pulled in.
Yes. I think that both mother and daughter either died before entering Silent Hill or when Alessa crawls up the ladder at the very end when Sharon opens her eyes. Of course they don't know they're dead and the husband doesn't either. Not the best movie in the world...but there were LOTS of creepy characters!!
The mother and daughter died in the beginning car crash. You have to be dead to see people in the town of Silent Hill. So alessa the little girl was seen as a witch by the town folks so she can't go into the church however she can use someones body and go in there. And that's the case at end she is inside the mommy who takes her in the church and she takes revenge on the people who kicked her out and left her in misery. At the end when mother daughter return to home, they're both dead that's why you see fog. In real world, where dad is in entire movie it's kind of sunny and much more clear.
I also saw this movie. Not the best one! Honestly I didn't understand the ending too...
u saw it on mbc2 right ?anyway nevermind it silly end ,actually the movie was disgusting .
