Anyone know any good Renaissance Movies?!

Question: Fiction or Non-Fiction - Not to gory - my kids are studying the renaissance right now

Answers: Fiction or Non-Fiction - Not to gory - my kids are studying the renaissance right now

"A Knight's Tale" was medieval, not renaissance.

"Ever After"
"Romeo & Juliet"
"Othello"
"The Three Musketeers" (it technically isn't renaissance, but it's close)
"The Mission" (this one is rated PG but has some disturbing elements, such as the killing of native villagers, including children, and it also has Indigenous nudity)

Which Renaissance? (in which country? The Italian Renaissance?? English Renaissance?? ...they happened quite a few years apart)

Also - it's tough to find something which is going to be historically accurate that will also be entertaining to your children (unless your kids are part of that rare breed who would find history to be utterly fascinating)

If you take into account that none of these films are 100% historically accurate, you could try the following:

Elizabeth (1998)
Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007)
Shakespear in Love (1998)
The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex (1939)
Young Bess (1953)

Elizabeth R (1971) - is a 9-hour mini series that aired on BBC which was pretty darn good

a knights tale
