Question: Evita, great movie! The movie is about a lower class girl who's father leaves the family for a middleclass family. This fact stays with her as she grows to a young lady and will forever hate the middle class because of this. She lives in a village where her family runs a bar/club and hires entertainment. One of the singers that comes to perform ends up having an affair w/Madonna's characther. She is very young and he is married and from the big city, (aregentina). She longs to go to the city and eventually she convinces him to bring her. He tries to talk to wife and her stay with them but the wife sees her and puts 2 and 2 together and refuses to let her stay. She is now on her own and spends a few years taking some modeling and singing jobs. During all this she moves from man to man and each one is a little better off then the last. She eventually catches the eye of one of Argentina's upcoming politician. His name is Perone. She convinces him to run for president even though he is a little weary about it. He is content with them being secure financially and live more of a low profile life. They end up marrying and he inturn runs for office. The 'people' love her becuase she came from a working class life w/little oppurtunity, just like them. They are so taken by her and her fame starts to succeed Perone's. The end result is that she developes cancer and eventually dies. It's a very well written movie and has become one of my favorites. I'm not much of a Modonna fan, but her performance in this movie is incredible.
