I'm a great fan of German titles given to non-German movies. "Groundhog Day" in its German version translates into "And again, the groundhog salutes".
Wow, some militaristic creature that is.
They seem to do this with everything, and I'll never forget the atrocities committed in the 1970s and 80s on those movies with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill - translating those resulted in the kind of stuff tabloid newspaper headlines are made of, leaving you intellectually overloaded yet somehow feeling malnourished for true wit:
"Four fists against Rio"
"Two heavenly dogs on the way to hell"
"Buddy strikes Long Luke"
I'm grateful the others have been submerged in the dark depths of my subconscious.
