Answers: What message does Henry Higgins express in his song
"Why can't the English Learn to speak"?

he is expressing the message that the britiash population are rubbish at speaking out our language...which esentially we are. we all have our own versions and dialects of english, the majority of which are in no way close to the 'proper' queen's english, paticualry the type of english that is spoken in Yorkshire and Aberdeen.

i know i am taking about the whole of Britain in ths when you refer to the english in paticular hope that is not a problem.

talking about poor grammar and the slang versions used. drives him bats as a linguist.

Poor grammar...Henry Higgins would come unglued at how we have digressed even more than Eliza ever could...LOL!

He is trying to get across that the people from England are losing the ability to speak refined English.
