See if you can find a DVD of the movie "Lady In White". Excellent suspense and scary movie without the gore. Click on the below link for a review of it.

That one scared the crap out of me.

session 9
The original "night of the living dead
Pumpkinhead
Premonition (Japanese 2004)~This one made ME jump a couple of places, and that doesn't happen often.
Phantasm 1-4 (First is best.)
The Gravedancers
The Haunting (original)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (original Fifties version)
The Innocents
Curse of the Demon aka Night of the Demon
Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2
Route 666
Dagon
The Bone Snatcher
The Gate~The sequel isn't as good.
Horror Express
Campfire Tales
Carnival of Souls (original)
Stay Alive
For something completely different:
The Brain That Wouldn't Die~This is a totally bizarre movie about a scientist who saves his fiancee's decapitated head so that he can look for a body for her, all the while dealing with an aggravated monster of his own creation and many other interruptions. There's a lot more gore than would be expected in an older film, plus a catfight between two predatory females at a nightclub. The head (Virginia Leith, by the way) is rather chatty at times and, in the end, takes charge of the situation. This inspired the parody "The Man With Two Brains", starring Steve Martin and Kathleen Turner.
NOTE: "Cape Fear" (original) is not an Alfred Hitchcock film. It was directed by J. Lee Thompson. It IS good though, much better than the remake by a long shot. Robert Mitchum is pure danger as Max Cady! In the remake, they have the girl inviting his attention, which is sick! Shame on them for tearing apart the original story!
Mitchum also is fierocious in "Night of the Hunter", which is a worthwhile film to check out though it doesn't carry the hammering horror scenes most people want to see.

The Ring
Saw
Frailty (badassss with Matthew M., Bill Paxton)
