american gangster got a lot of good reviews and IMDb gave it an 8.5 outta 10. and wristcutters also got many good reviews and got 7.4 outta 10. If it were me, I'd watch those two back to back.

I would go see American Gangster or 30 Days of Night. Scary or Drama.. your choice! I'd go with the horror myself.
