They've lost the "magic".
They seem to have followed the same path of all major giant corporations that do the same old, same old instead of exploring new ventures and trying to find real talent.
Whether they've sold themselves to the devil, or merely put Mickey Mouse on 42 nd. Street...they've morphed into something not recognizable.
"Lady and the Tramp", "101 Dalmations", "Pinocchio", "Fantasia"...cannot be touched!
I agree they're making too many cartoons lately. It's because even an average one rakes in hundreds of millions because every parent in America takes their kids to the movies opening weekend. Crank out an average sequel and make $250M...who wouldn't?
If you look at the older Disney movies, they too have evil creatures, etc., supporting that they haven't recently sold out.
To quote a Disney movie - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End: It's just good business. They're in it for their financial health.
