And then Pirates of the Carabean. There stuff is every where. The movie is over. Shouldn't the stuff be over too.

Willy Wonka candy has been out since the first movie back in the 70's so it really is a brand name by now, not just a tie in to a movie.
As far as the Pirates stuff is concerned, I'm sure it is to keep up excitement for the movie as the dvd is due out on December 4.
Not only that, but all that merchandise is money in the pocket for the studio and stars. I read that Jack Nicholson made several times his movie salary for Batman in merchandising fees and percentages.
