FULL METAL JACKET
At the time, it was The Matrix (first movie)
Full Metal Jacket is a classic, Get Up Private Joker.
Other than that We Were Soldiers.
star wars episodes II and III
Saving Private Ryan - based on a true story and the FX were excellent!
300.. it was amaaaaazinng.
Platoon, Braveheart and Stalag 17....not necessarily in that order
300 it was awsome or pearl harbor
My all time favorite is The Patriot
My personal favorite is Patton. Tora! Tora! Tora! is very good and also very historically accurate. I also think Full Metal Jacket was excellent.
I still feel the best war movie I've seen is Platoon, with Saving Private Ryan being a close second and more realistic depiction of war. As for the coolest I've seen, I will go with The Bridges at Toko-Ri or Stalag 17.
Here are some of my favorites.
"Twelve O'clock High":
"Battleground"
"The Caine Mutiny"
"In Harms Way"
"Tori! Tori! Tori!"
"Full metal Jacket"
"Platoon"
"A Walk in the Sun"
"There Were Expendable"
"Guadalcanal Diary"
"Sink the Bismark"
"Apocalypse Now"
