When did colour movies start?!

Question: What year did people stop using black & movies and start to make coloured movies??? I think 60s was the last decade to use black & white movies, but Rosemary's Baby was of colour.

there's never been a time when people decided to "stop using black and white movies" the first color movie did come out in 1918 and afterwards it was used more and more frequently... mostly because of the additional character it may add to the filming of a movie... for example, in the wizard of oz in 1939, dorothy's slippers were changed from silver to ruby to show off the innovation of the color film... however, even today black and white movies are still in use... similar to how color adds character, black and white film adds character to a movie as well... i believe most recently the good german in 2006 was in black and white... i'm sure there have been even more in 2007... but the only one i can think of now is good german...

umm when wizard of oz came out, which was 1939..it was the first movie to use color.

The first real colour movie was 'Cupid Angling' in 1918..

The first popular colour films were 'Gone with the wind' and parts of 'The Wizard of Oz' from 1939..

The other part of your question doesn't make sense though.. People still make B&W films

schender list was in black and white in the 30's
