Can't remember an old war film?!

Question: All I recall is that at the end two men are executed by firing squad and they walk up to the waiting death squad holding hands. I believe they are British or Commonwealth officer from WW1.

Please help!

Could it be Breaker Morant?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breaker_Mor...

almost certainly Breaker Morant -based on real event in the Boar War Edward Woodward and Bryan Brown walk out to chairs holding hands at dawn Morant's last words are "shoot straight you b*****ds"

Hi there.
It is indeed Breaker Morant, starring Edward Woodward. The hand holding wasn't scripted, the actors were so into the part they did it without realising and it was so affecting the director kept it in.
Cheers, Steve.

Everyone's correct, it's Breaker Morant starring Edward Woodward and Brian Brown. They were accused of killing Boer prisoners during the Boer War in South Africa. Probably innocent, the English government had them executed to appease the press and the Boer representatives. Great freakin' movie.
