How Do Vampires Die in the Blade Series of Movies?!

Question: I noticed that in Blade 2 that if a vampire is hit anywhere with silver they die, like when Blade shoots a vampire in the stomach with a silver round it will burst into flames, but in Blade 1 in the beginning fight sequence in the Blood Club he shoots the red headed guy with a silver stake through the shoulder pinning him against the wall and then fires another one through his other shoulder. Is there something I'm missing, or is this just a mistake of the writers?

Not only that but if you are following the general vampire mythology, then they should be immune to any and all physical damage except for 1. being staked thru the heart with a wooden stake, 2. being beheaded or dismembered, or subjected to gross catastrophic damage such as being flattened under a two-ton block of stone, 3. being attacked with fire, holy water, or acid, and 4. being exposed to sunlight (or concentrated ultraviolet light). Silver traditionally has NO effect on vampires - it is a weapon against werewolves only. Vampires seem to have an allergic reaction to garlic, and can be held at bay with a holy symbol - provided the wielder is unshakeable in his/her faith. Without faith the cross, water, and wafer are merely symbols - not weapons.
In Blade the vampires seem to die from non-lethal wounds left and right - I laughed out loud when I saw one derez from a belly wound. Hilarious. Blade is like Highlander - in order to milk as many dollars from the franchise as possible they wrote stories that completely contradict information or events from previous movies - and like Highlander, there should have been "only one." and Highlander the series should have ended with Duncan's head being taken by Kurgan - the whole show should have been a prequel to the original Highlander. Ok. Rant over. Stepping down off my Highlander soapbox.

Blade movies aren't good at following their own rules.

Yeah dude, it's Blade... you're not supposed to think about it too much... it's a shame too because the first one was half way decent.
