Does anyone understand what happened in Saw IV?!

Question: I found it really confusing. In the beginning, sugerons are performing an autopsy on Jigsaw's body and at the end he's on the bed in the room Saw III took place in. I don't get it. Was it supposed to intertwine with the third film? Was the beginning of the fourth supposed to be the ending of the third? Was it supposed to be going backwards in time? I don't get it. Also, when his wife lost the baby, was that why he started to set people up? Someone help me out please.

Of course this is a spoiler if you haven't already seen the movie.

Yes, you are correct. The autopsy of Jigsaw at the beginning of the movie is actually the last thing that happens. Everything after that is happening at the same time that the events in Saw III are happening. That's why they show clips from what happened at the end of Saw III at the end of Saw IV.

To answer your other question, remember his wife was running a clinic for poor and underpriveleged people. Jigsaw resented the fact that one of these same people his wife was helping, was who made him lose the baby.

If you need any more clarification, go to www.wikipedia.org and search Saw IV. That site has complete beginning to end plot summaries for most movies as well as an article on just about anything else you can think of.

If you are the kind of person who enjoyed any of the "Saw" movies, you don't really need to be concerned with understanding because you are an incompetent.

I LOVED only part 1!!

the fourth movie occurs during the same time as the third movie. It also goes back in time to detail why Jigsaw did what he did. But there is also the present time story line with the detectives and game. The openning scene actually occurs after the rest of the movie and is meant for Dectective Hoffman. When you see the set from the third movie, Jigsaws body is there because his death has just happened. Thats why they play the autopsy scene again, to put it in its rightful timeframe.
And, It is from distraught from the loss of his baby that drives Jigsaw to set up traps, believing that only victims can change themselves.
