Question about Saw 4, please read! It's urgent!?!

Question: Near the ending really confused the hell outta me, I didn't get it.
When the detective walked into the room where Jeff was, when he killed Jigsaw, how was Jigsaw still laying there? and also Amanda? I thought Jigsaw was at the doctor place, getting checked to see how he died? Or was it just a flashback sort of thing? please clear this up, its confusing me lol. & how come they never showed Jeff finding his daughter? (I know he didn't, but why didn't he) and when Amanda was crying when she read the folder, is that because she knew that Detective was replacing her? and did Amanda know he was gonna die? is that also why she was crying..?

The ending was what took place immediately after Saw 3.
This movie was not shot in chronological order. the events of SAW IV take place at the same time as the events of SAW III.

That's why when FBI agent Strahm (Scott Paterson) breaks into the room with Jeff in it (from III) and kills him, Jigsaw's dead body is there. The tape played at the beginning of the movie is removed AFTER everything has happened, so that Hoffman can continue Jigsaw's work with little police interference. It turns out Hoffman was in on Jigsaw's plan from part III as well. Amanda (Shawnee Smith) knew Hoffman was apprenticing with Jigsaw as well, so everything was in place long ago. As for how exactly Jigsaw got a hold of Hoffman and inspired him to follow in his footsteps...well, we'll find out in SAW V, won't we?

I think that in the first part of your question, I think that was a flashback to that time to set up how the detective became involved in the whole thing. As for Amanda, that remains a mystery to me too, but I think she found out after reading that file that maybe jigsaw was going to replace her, or that she was part of the game all along and it was her time to play.
