When people say the TRILOGY, do you think of star wars 4,5,and 6 or another movi!
Question: Depends on which group of nerds you hang with. LotR nerds would invariably reply "Lord of the Rings"! Mafia fans, "The Godfather"!

I think Star Wars geeks would think of Episodes IV, V and VI long before they'd think of the crappy I, II, and III (by comparison, I mean).
I think of Martin Scorsese's Mafia trilogy, Mean Streets, Goodfellas, and Casino, personally.
PS: Each of the LotR trilogy was also nominated for Best Picture. But The Godfather is certainly the only trilogy to spawn TWO Best Picture awards!
