I loved this movie, though I can completely understand people not liking it.
Director Julie Taymor's background is in theatrical, hence the incredible sets and costumes.
They have so much fun with the songs ... I found it heart-warming and enjoyable, though I could understand Beatles purists finding it sacriligious.
Even Bono is great in this film, as Dr. Robert! Who'd have thunk it. And I was pleased Frida's Salma Hayek got her cameo in.
I adore The Beatles (the biggest Beatles nerd out of everyone I know personally), and I thought this movie was great. It did the songs justice. However, I really didn't like the two main characters, mostly after they started whining at each other about anything they could. Other than that, though, it was spectacular.
