Tough movie question?!

Question: Does anyone know the title: An asian woman was assaulted in the beginning. She's narrarating the story of her life and the Vietnam war. She got older and married an American soldier who swept her off her feet. They fell in love, had a baby. She came to America and went to a real grocery store for the first time.

Towards the end of the movie her husband flips out, and kills himself. She moves back home with their child(ren).
