ROCK & RULE (1983)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086203/
IMDB summary:
Angel, a member of a punk rock band in the apocalyptic future, is kidnapped by Mok, a legendary superocker. Obsessed with a dark experiment, Mok plans to use Angel's voice to summon a demon from another dimension. The rest of the band follows Mok to Nuke York in an attempt to get her back.
I have a copy of this somewhere in my vast VHS collection. I had a vague memory of the title but knew one voice I vividly remember: Iggy Pop. He has a great bit in the film: the summoned demon, if I recall. I could remember "Rock &" but had to check on the third word. It's a cool movie!
In a review at the bottom, it says this is considered a cult film. I've loved alternate animation for a very long time~"Fire & Ice", "Fantastic Planet", and "Starchaser: The Legend of Orin".
