They have remade "Ben-Hur"?! I didn't realize that. I'll have to watch for it though I doubt it will be as magnificent as the original.
Billy Zane is rather good though I don't consider him among the great actors. He's competent and can cover a variety of roles. He carried off The Phantom, and that's saying something. He plays villains and heroes equally well, and he's very handsome.
By the way, I was rooting for him to catch up to them in "Titanic"! Shoot! Shoot!
EDIT: We were just chatting about the silent version of "Ben-Hur", which stars the beautiful and talented Ramon Navarro. I referred to the Fifties version because it's the one most people are familiar with. I hope that didn't cause any confusion.
The full title of the novel is "Ben-Hur: A Story of the Christ", which was written by General Lew Wallace.

There's absolutely no doubt about it: BEN-HUR is far better than that other film.
I detest "Titanic"! I think it's an absolutely dreadful version of the story. Many of the people act as if they're in a contemporary setting and behave completely unlike they probably would have in that time period. I'd rather watch one of the previous versions. I like some of the actors and actresses, but the movie overall is very poor. I'm aghast that it made so much money! I also don't get the craziness over "Gladiator", another overblown film.
Not sure of your question but ben Hur is my favorite movie and has 11 oscars that include best actor and supporting actor.Titanic is a good movie but cannot claim that or compare to Ben Hur.
I like Zane,I liked him in the Phantom,Titanic,And Tales from the Crypt.

I slightly prefer Titanic, mostly because I despise Charlton Heston
