Do you enjoy watching australian films?!

Question: which ones and why?

Answers: which ones and why?

yes we are finally making some good ones

I used to really enjoy Australian children's movies, because they're among the best in their category, but I have to admit I haven't seen too many Australian movies for a broader audience. I do like pretty much anything with Sam Neill in it, though.

This could be quite a list because HBO used to show a lot of Australian imports. Here are some of them I especially like:
The Last Wave
Picnic at Hanging Rock
Gallipoli
Breaker Morant
The Piano
Mad Max trilogy
Muriel's Wedding
A Japanese Story
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Walkabout (filmed in Australia)
Roadgames
Patrick~I really wish they would air this horror film, as it has such great lines!
Thirst aka The Thirst
My Brilliant Career
Crocodile Dundee
The Man from Snowy River
Careful, He Might Hear You
The Year My Voice Broke
Eliza Fraser aka The Rollicking Adventures of Eliza Fraser

Why? I love movies! I love films from all over the globe! There's no rhyme or reason for me; I watch from three to five movies many days, and I go from genre to genre. Generally, I don't pay a lot of attention to where films are made unless I'm doing research. After all, it's not unusual for a U.S. film company to travel to various parts of the world to film. So, for example, not all films made in Australia are Australian, true? And, sometimes the Australian directors come here to make films, such as happened with Richard Franklin; I love his film "Link" although it supposedly was changed drastically from what he did with the movie. Anyway, "Link" couldn't be on my list because it isn't an Australian film although its director was an Aussie. Is that entirely confusing?

Forgive me if I erred in crediting the wrong films to Australia. I didn't include any from New Zealand. I just keep feeling as if I've forgotten some really great ones. Most of these I have watched dozens of times, especially "The Last Wave", which is so haunting that I probably could include it on some Halloween lists! Another special favorite of mine is "Roadgames", a Franklin-directed film that is worthy of Alfred Hitchcock.
