Question: Okay well im taking my mom to go see it with me today since its rated R, but she hasent seen any of the movies. Can someone just kinda sum it up so its easy to explain the whole concept/story of it??

John Kramer had terminal cancer, discovering this he decided to become what will later be called The Jigsaw Killer. Which is what the police name him after the fact he takes a jigsaw piece shape out of each of his victims flesh, to represent that that person had a piece missing. Jigsaw is a killer whom teaches his victims to appreciate life through a series of tests. All have failed other than Amanda.
Really have to at least watch saw 3 before this one because I've seen it and there hare many reoccurring actors from the third film.
Taking your mom? Are you insane? UNLESS your mom is into extreme violence, torture-type movies with lots of gore, extreme gore, blood guts, extreme torture. I can't believe you're taking your mom. I'm a big fan of the series, and I took my fiance to Saw III last year (he's a cop)...he couldn't even handle it.
well in the first movie he gets and apprentice and kills a docotr and some guy for being evil since he punishes them for being evil in life. in the second movie he still keeps his apprentice and kills a policeman but is badly wounded and thet's it for that movie. in the 3rd movie he has cancer and he's dying so the apprentice kidnaps a nurse and tell her to keep him alive until the game ends so he dies and the nurse dies, the guy playing the game dies and the apprentice dies.
in the fourth well the one your going to see they find a tape in john's body and that's it from the prviews. hope it helps. :)

it is indeed a horror movie!! if your mom doesnt have heart attack and can deal with r-rated movie, than bring her with you..
