Question: In the movie there are these 3 guys who live together (no they're not gay) Then one day their friend (Luke) asks them if they could have a person (Jamie) stay with them for a while. They say ok. So Jamie and them start to get along. Then when the 4 of them are watching the news they find out that Luke is dead. Then they get all sad and everything.
Jamie killed Luke but the guys don't no that yet. What steps would it take so that they find out that Jamie killed Luke?
so far I have one of the guys doing Jamie's laundry and he finds a blood stain on his shirt and starts to get suspicious. I don't know what to write next. Please give ideas =)

So, these guys live together in a house and they do each other's laundry. Are you sure they're not gay?
Seriously, though, maybe they could notice that this guy has something of Luke's. Like maybe they could notice he was wearing his watch or something, and then when they ask him about it he could say Luke gave it to him before he died. But they know that can't be true because Luke's dad gave it to him before he died and it was his prized posession, and he wouldn't give it to anyone. Make it something not so cliche as a watch, though.
Always keep to them self and really paranoid
they should start spying on him and he is doing all these suspicious things, but still not enough to reveal that he is a killer, so they have to keep digging
The four of them are watching the news... and they find out Luke is dead!!! Is he watching the news dead on the couch??? Man, that's creepy!!!!

First of all, I'm not a writer, but I read a lot of mysteries.
If you want to telegraph it to the audience (make it more obvious), I'd have one of the guys find a personal item of Luke's along with Jamie's belongings...could be an I.D. bracelet, watch, dogtags, etc - something that clearly belonged to Luke.
Also good is to have an answering machine message where Luke was confirming that he'd meet Jamie at his time of death.
It would help if Jamie had a really bogus alibi for the time of death, too, with no one to account for his whereabouts.
I hope these are the kinds of things you're looking for. If it was me writing this, I'd have a female cop do the investigation, get Jamie fixated on killing her, but have the guys save her in the nick of time - Jamie gets nabbed, and one of the guys falls in love with the cop. But that's just the chick flick side of me, I guess.
They find Jamie is in possession of some personal item of Luke's (wallet - no, too obvious, but something like that).
Jaime lets it slip that he knows some detail about what Luke had done earlier that day when he supposedly hadn't talked to Luke in the past few days.
I am a writer, but since you're writing YOUR FILM, you should try to figure out everything yourself and stop asking others to give you some tips.... and take credit for them.
Just make sure he cleans up his mess when he is done..no one likes a bloody kitchen floor, you can fall and hurt yourself!
