There are many reasons that some of these get mentioned several times. Although I'm a film buff, I won't throw in all of the films you might see on some "must see" lists since you're a cavewoman whom I don't want to retreat back into her cave. So, this is the proverbial "mixed bag":

Gone with the Wind
Casablanca
Some Like It Hot
Rebel Without a Cause
Romeo & Juliet (1968)
Lord of the Rings trilogy
Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy
Star Wars saga (Why not watch them all? But, don't miss the second set!)
The Grapes of Wrath
Born Yesterday (original version)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Jaws
The Innocents
The Haunting (original)
La Strada (Italian~subtitled~~but so heartbreaking!)
North by Northwest
Psycho (original)
The Birds (and many other Alfred Hitchcock films)
Bonnie & Clyde
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
The Truth About Cats & Dogs
A Place in the Sun
The Day the Earth Stood Still
Jason & the Argonauts
E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial
Legend
Ladyhawke
Donnie Darko
Ruthless People
West Side Story
My Fair Lady
The King & I (original)
Frankenstein (original)
The Bride of Frankenstein
Edward Scissorhands
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure
Halloween (original)
On Golden Pond
They Shoot Horses Don't They?
Purple Rose of Cairo
A Passage to India
Clueless
Encino Man
Diva (French~subtitled)
Ragtime
