Question: Looking for the title of a movie maybe a couple of years ago. The theme was some kind of game in which seemingly ordinary people were killing each other. The object, I assume, was to stay alive as long as possible.

There was a great little movie from 2001 I loved called :
"Series 7 : The Contenders"
It was filmed like a mocumentary, involving a bunch of ordinary types having to kill each other to win the show.
