I loved The Fountain which was released in the last year and is now on DVD. It is so full of mystic imagery that I knew something about, so maybe that was why I liked it some much, but it was not well received and those who saw it did not like it. Oh well, I am glad they made it. I hope they get their money back so they will make more pictures that are cutting edge. I also liked Children of Men which was not a mass hit either. I see 40 movies a year and do not make choices on the critics or the masses. Films like Spiderman 1, 2, or 3 were great, but sometimes films are great but say nothing, like Transformers. It was two hours of action, but did it really tell me anthing or make be feel better. Films should mean something. Sadly Holly wood sometimes misses the mark say for example Rendtion over this past weekend. It was okay, but it was sadly missing the mark - it gave no hope that the people have any power over the government when the government goes haywire. There was not enough drama that meant anything.
