I just saw the movie Transformers. A question for folks who watched the old cart!
Question: Do anyone else feel like they kind of used the wrong voice for Megatron? The voice of Megatron in the older cartoon version was more annoying, yet that's what made him sound so villainous and funny at the same time. I wished they used a voice more closer to the one of the actual Megatron. The voice of Optimus Prime was closer to that of the original. What do you think?
Also, will there be a part 2?

I agree with you. Megatron's voice in the cartoon was more intimdating than the voice used in the movie. The guy that did the voice of Optimus Prime in the movie was the same person that did Optimus Prime's voice in the cartoons.
Yes, there will be a Transfomers 2. The movie was intentially left open-ended so that they could easily tie in a sequal.
the original voices sounds better and more authentic, but the movie was quite okay though.
for the part 2, ideas of a coming part might be made. there are clues at the end of the movie. star scream is still alive, the police car is still alive and optimus made a transmission that they are on earth. But probably a prequel might be made basing on the comic book transformers or the novel of transformers.

I am glad that Megatron was totally changed - used to be just a gun in the cartoon version
I can tell you that the same 'actor' who did the voice in the movie is the same person who did the original cartoon series voice for Optimus Prime
Also, Transformers 2 is unofficially set to be filmed/released some time in 2009
