What's a really good thriller?!

Question: I like movies with good plots...not senseless violence. Are there any movies you recommend that are NOT full of blood and guts. And I mean thriller/suspense movies...not horror movies.

Hi
I just seen Jody Foster in "The Brave One" and went through a gamut of emotions of crying, cheering, anger......it had a very deep story that one could not help but feel for the characters.

What lies beneath.
The Others

Try to see. FINAL CALL

Check out the movie "The Paycheck" with Ben Afleck. I tend not to be a BA fan, and I know this movie didn't have the best box office numbers... but it is actually pretty good.

It is clever and suspenseful. I've seen it a few times now and still enjoy it every time!

MEMENTO... I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

The all time classics are The Exorcist and The Shining. Watch them at night in the dark. But the scariest movie I have ever seen that is not just blood and guts, a real mind ****, "EVENT HORIZON"!!! Who ever thought of that story must be one scary dude!!!

What you want is "The Vanishing",the original Dutch version, not the Jeff Bridges/Kurt Russell one...THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT!

"Fallen". It is one of my favorite movies. It will keep you on the edge of your seat to try to solve the devilish mystery. It is not bloody at all. Nor is it the type where things jump out at you. Just an excellent thriller. A MUST see.

Try Idenitity starring Amanda Peet, john cusack ray liotta, you will be totally amazed.

Butterfly effect is another fantastic movie.

Spartan starrin Val Kilmer is good low budget movie. So good plot, but no special effects, if thats ok.

Halloween is the most atmospheric, supenseful thriller, combining elements of the supernatural and using the bogieman legend to great effect, to illustrate an intriguing story of a town with haunting secrets, including the vulnerability of a strong heroine, set against the backdrop of a suitably eerie Halloween's eve. The remaining films in the series are also as effective.

I was also surprised at the craft with which a recent thriller, "Dead Silence" was made. There are little violent scenes in this film, and the violence in Halloween is carefully juxtaposed with the story, so that it is spinechilling, but not unjustified.

"Irresistible" with Sam Neill and Susan Sarandon is a thoughtful thriller, and for a genre which is purely thriller, try Brian Clemens' ATV Thriller series, from the 1970s, an English thriller series with a mysteriousness all of its own, which engages the mind, in a light but interesting way.
