The Mandacheewan. The sautes does not have the fifth element there and i think the hand was got when the found the wreckage of the Mandacheewan ship. Leeloo was created in the form of a perfect human because the machine was only capable of creating humans and the Mandacheewans are considered the perfect race.
The Mandacheewan are the fifth element i think and leeloo is one of the in a human body.

The hand is from the ship that got attacked by the zork hired killers. Leeloo has flash backs of this when she fights the assaisn when the go to the hotel room of the diva.
I think its from a mandacheewan. Remember at the beggining when the "evil" guys destroyed the peace brining aliens spaceship and leeloo was the sole survivor (in alien form)

It's funny how this movie 'haunts' me ... I was shopping yesterday and saw the DVD of 'The Fifth Element' at the store. Now you ask a fith element question this morning. I'm going to have to check to see if we have that darn DVD and buy it when we go shopping later today if we don't. Life is weird sometimes, isn't it?
