It deals with success, how far a person will go to get it, and what happens once they do.. You have the two main characters one a published author who was sick of the whole thing and becomes a recluse. The second is a kid in high school who gets a scholoarship to a private school.. He gets the help of the author, and is soon being harassed at school when teachers don't believe he wrote it all himself.. (He had to write it about 200 times before it was good enough, but he DID do it himself)

The motivations?.. The author is motivated by curiosity I think.. more than anything else.. he wants to see if the kid can do it just as much as the kid does.. and he learns that he really does like having some human interaction..

The kid is motivated by a desire to succeed.. he has a few set backs where he questions his desire.. but overall that's what he does want..

I haven't watched it in a long time, so that's the best I can do.

You're the man dog. the theme is that you can achieve anything no matter who are.

I very recently saw this movie. One of the great ones! I believe the theme was to find yourself, and once you find yourself, KEEP yourself. Don't let everyday occurances hinder you in your quest.

Like the previous poster the ultimate moral is achieving something even though the odds are stacked against, you.Forester is a well educated writer, who is in seclusion but is sought out by a black student who has a knack for creative writing.Forester(sean Connery) is reluctant to come out of seclusion but sees potential in the student and begins helping him develope his writing skills at the same time the student motivates Connery to come out of seclusion and contribute to society once more by writing again for himself.

The movie is about potential. Forrester is a man who, on his first attempt made what was considered to be one of the greatest pieces of literature. After that he essentially choked, he gave up on the world before it had a chance to give up on him and became a recluse. The young man in the movie is "gifted", he has a lot of potential that is immediatly recognized by Forrester. Forrester attempts to show the young man what he is capable of and hopefully how to avoid becoming a burn out too fast. Also I think it's also a bit of pesonal redemption on Forresters part, helping the boy make his way in the world helps Forrester get over his own personal failures and move on. It was a great movie and didn't really get a lot of credit when it first came out.

yes and i loved this movie
