What are some good art related movies?!

Question: I need some suggestions for some good art related movies. These could be movies based on artists' lives or just plain movies based on the types of art.

Answers: I need some suggestions for some good art related movies. These could be movies based on artists' lives or just plain movies based on the types of art.

artists:
The Agony and the Ecstasy (Michelangelo)
A Season of Giants (1991 TV miniseries) (Michelangelo and Da Vinci, plus other artists of the Italian Renaissance)
Lust for Life (Vincent van Gogh)
Living With Picasso
The Picasso Summer (1969)
Theo & Vincent (Vincent van Gogh and his brother)
Fur~An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006)
Pollock (Jackson Pollock)
The Naked Maja (Goya)
Girl With a Pearl Earring (Johannes Vermeer)(based on a novel)
Rembrandt
Modigliani
Gauguin (Paul Gauguin, who also is portrayed in Lust for Life)
Gauguin the Savage (TV movie)
The Wolf at the Door (Gauguin again!)
Moulin Rouge (Touslouse Lautrec)(starring Jose Ferrer~not that other movie!)
I Shot Andy Warhol
Camille Claudel (1989)
Frida (Frida Kahlo)
Basquiat
Goya in Bordeaux (2000)
Savage Messiah (1972) (sculptor Henri Gaudier-Brzeska)

I found this though it's probably obscure enough that it isn't available:
Historia Zóltej Cizemki (1961)
Set in the Middle Ages the film tells the story of a wonder child, the little sculptor Wawrzek, who goes to work for a great master, Wit Stwosz. The story culminates in the unveiling of Stwosz's greatest masterpiece, the Altar of St. Mary's Church in Cracow.

fictional artists:
Portrait of Jennie (1948)
The Two Mrs. Carrolls (1947)
Sirens (1994)
Age of Consent (1969)
The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969)
An American in Paris (1951)
Local Color (2006)
Pleasantville (1998)
La Belle Noiseuse (1991)
Blowup (1966) (photographer)
Beetlejuice (1988) (sculptor~Her sculptures are brought to life!)

In "The Sandpipers" (1965), Elizabeth Taylor portrays an artist living in a seaside community, but I don't recall if she sculpts or paints. I do remember a man making a sculpture of her from redwood (I think).

I watched a movie last night titled "The Blind Beast" (1969), which is about a blind sculptor who kidnaps a model and keeps her prisoner. This is a very strange, scary movie that, if you can find it, should be approached with absolute caution. It truly is that powerful and violent.

Darn! There are some movies out there about sculptors, but I can't recall the names! I might have to return to add them later if I can track down the titles.

"Pollock" w/ Ed Harris is a good one. They're all sad though, cause you know that art comes from pain most often. Also "Art School Confidential" is interesting, kinda funny but can be sad too.

I really liked Frida.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but how about 'What Dreams May Come' with Robin Williams?

Pollock (2000)
Who the **** Is Jackson Pollock? (2006)
Frida (2002)
The Da Vinci Code (2006)
Goya's Ghosts (2006)
Lust for Life (1956)
The Draughtsman's Contract (1982)
Artemisia (1997)
Camille Claudel (1989)

Basquiat
The Agony and the Ecstasy
Vincent and Theo
Frida
