Camp Rock is a 2008 Disney Channel Original Movie. It began production in September 2007. [1] The musical is written by Julie Brown, Paul Brown, Regina Hicks and Karen Gist. Matthew Diamond is set to direct the movie; Alan Sacks is the producer. [1]

Camp Rock is a musical that centers on a teen girl (Demi Lovato) who desperately wants to spend her summer at a prestigious rock camp, but can only attend if she works in the kitchen as one of the cooks. When she's overheard singing – but not seen – by teen pop star Shane Gray (Joe Jonas) at the camp, he is completely taken and sets out to find the girl behind the beautiful voice.

Disney Channel first released an official press via its press release website DisneyChannelMedianet.com on 14 July 2007 to confirm the production of Camp Rock. The plot, writers, director and producer of this movie were also announced in this press. In addition, another 2008 DCOM named Minutemen starring Jason Dolley was also confirmed to begin production soon in the same press release. [1] The Jonas Brothers said on their Myspace that they might be doing something with Camp Rock but did not give any specific information
