The Legend of Zelda: The Hero of Time, is a low budget film made by fans of the LoZ video game series. I suppose they were frustrated with Nintendo's lack of interest in producing a big budget Zelda feature and decided to have a go at making their own.

Though it has not quite got the Hollywood sheen, Hero of Time (loosely based on the plot of Ocarina of Time) has been in production for three years and is currently in the final stages. The film will likely only be released on Internet movie sites (not having the satisfaction of getting main stream release in cinemas or on DVD) which is probably the reason why you don't hear much about it.

Hero of Time stars David Blane as Link and Hannah Fierman as Zelda with Adam Boyer portraying Ganon. Yep, I've never heard of them either.
