Yes it is. It's the third remake of the 1956 film "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" that was based on the novel by Jack Finney.

The first remake was in 1978, the second, "Body Snatchers", was in 1993 and now in 2007 we get "The Invasion."

Nicole Kidman stars in "The Invasion" and it's possibly a companion piece to her ex-husband Tom Cruise's hugely successful "War of the Worlds" which was also a remake of a 1950s sci-fi classic about an alien invasion.

Save your cash, buy the original (or even the 70's remake) on DVD.

Not so much a remake more of a reimagining of the original film. If you have seen the 2004 version of dawn of the dead then you will know that it is based on romeros original idea but it is a totally different movie.
It is the same here as Invasion is a different take on the original invasion of the body snatchers.
It is a good movie but the first remake from the 1970's with donald sutherland and leonard nimoy is a much better film!
