Probably the best POW drama I have seen since Deer Hunter.

The highest rank american officer in a POW camp in Germany maintains order and a high sence of honor within his fellow inmates. He secretly plans a escape mission to destroy a nearby weapons facility and takes advantage of a military court case for assasination to distract German officers.
Not like others POW movies where the plot is to escape from the camp or to show the impact of the war or prission camp on the soldiers; in this one the prisioners are still combating against the enemy whilinstead of sit down as POW and wait for the end of the war.
