Answers: what, no cigarettes (1945). I've had a fair old search, but can't seem to find it. Can any one point me in the right direction.

It is listed on imdb, but notice that it is listed as a "short" with a running time of 18 minutes. It is very unlikely that this would be release by itself on DVD; it might become available in the future as an on-line offering, since that would reduce distribution costs dramatically.

The distributor is listed as RKO, but this is somewhat misleading, since the old RKO was forced to sell rights to its library at auction back in 1971 (see the wikipedia link, below). The final receiver in the United States is probably Time Warner, so if you are inordinately curious and extraordinarily persistent, that would be the place to go.

Note that the Copyright Term Extension Act (CTEA) of 1998 extended the copyright on to 95 years, so it is possible that it won't be available in the public domain until 1940. However, you should check with the discussion forum at archives.org -- they have some films of a more recent vintage and might be able to help you track down yours.
