Goriest Horror Movie ever made to date?!
Question: I am curious: Is it true that Peter Jackson's Dead Alive aka Braindead is the goriest movie ever made?
I have not seen and and I dont want to because of what I've heard.

While gory, Dead-Alive never really takes itself too seriously, its more of a horror/comedy film. If you want gore that is meant to shock, check out the films "Men Behind The Sun", or "Cannibal Holocaust".

The goriest film so far would most likely be Eli Roth's "Hostel" or the majority of the Saw films, but I have yet to see Dead Alive, so I cannot be sure.
There is an old movie called "Maniac" and another called "Wizard Of Gore" both are really disturbing and bloody.
Dead Alive would not be at the top of the gore list in my opinion. I enjoyed the movie but it certainly wasn't one of the goriest I have seen. For classic gore, The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, love that move. One really gory movie I did not enjoy was House of 1000 Corpes, The storyline bored my and it seemed like gore for gores sake.
I Spit On Your Grave is not the bloodiest goriest movie but this one scene a rape victim gets some cool revenge on one of her rapists. She convinces him to take a bath with her like all's forgiven right. they are in the tub she's playing with his sh*t getting him aroused. Then as he's laid back enjoying the moment the woman reaches out grabs the biggest damn butchers knife i ever saw in a movie and cuts his d*ck and balls OFF LOL. Its real creepy because the camera angle catches the shininess of the knife and your like "Oh Sh*t this ain't gonna be pretty." then the dude's like "oh feels so good it hurts" then see's the tub turning a dark red she hops out the tub locks him in goes to the other room and cranks up the tunes to drown out his screams as he bleeds to death. I am a guy but i was like Hell Yeah Girl. I forget how she kills the others but one by one she gets her men so to say.
I agree with others here & would pick hostel, texas chainsaw, saw.
I believe Dead Alive is the goriest movie.
I don't know about gore, but some movies I thought were pretty disgusting would have to be The Thing and the first Hellraiser movie. They were still good though.
