Why do you hate alot of new movies?!

Question: I don't hate alot of them, I hate the fact that to rent a movie now, used to be what it cost to go to the theater and see it, and now to go to the theater costs as much as taking your date out to a steak dinner....wtf!!! Even though the cost still irks me, I wait for movies to come out on DVD mostly, unless it's something I just gotta see.

Hate well maybe not,but I dislkie the fact that some joke can be so obvious and it's like I can tell the point where Iam expected to laugh, also how some shows sort of 'copy' ideas from other shows in order for it to be a hit.
well, no one comes up with a plot that's never been used before anymore, for one. plus, it's either all about sex and drugs.
1> No originality any more
even the movie Superbad was a carbon copy of American Pie

2> Hollywood-ized
producers tend to butcher a really good book
ie: Da Vinci Code, most Stephen King movies

3> Predictability
You can tell how the movie is gonna end 30 minutes into it

just my $0.02
I don't - I see good movies all the time.
Because the writing is terrible, sounds like it's been written by monkeys, no disrespect to monkeys. Also, there's a tremendous lack of acting ability out there, with most of the so-called stars having only TV or film experience, not a lot of stage work where acting is perfected. It's a shame. I think the movies prior to the 80's are still the best, not to say there haven't been good efforts after.
I don't like most of them because it's just more of the same. The same plot, different characters & different locations; you already know what's going to happen. Someone needs to come up with some new ideas!
I still manage to see about a movie a week but I think generally things have gone downhill. Seldom do I have to make a choice there only seems to be one I want to see, despite there being like 20 screens in town, back when there were fewer theatres I often had to choose between three or four good ones to see. One problem is that may movies are carbon copies of other that have been successful, leading to more of the same old thing. Too many copycats and formula movies. Rarely do you see an original movie.
Bad writting, bad acting & bad directing.
I have yet to see an original script, let's look back
-City of Angels a copy of Faraway so Close (Wim Wenders)
-Vanilla Sky a copy of Abre los Ojos (Open your Eyes) Alejandro Amenabar
-Point of not Return a copy of La Femme Nikita (Luc Besson)
-K-Pax copy of Hombre mirando al Sudeste (Man facing Southeast, Subiela)
-The Ring copy of Ringu
Just to mention a few, I much rather watch the original version, plus I feel like Hollywood versions are always too easy, too cheesy, everything falls in place perfectly, I like to see movies about the real stuff, where the girl doesn't always gets the guy, where people really die before saying goodbye, where blind people doesn't get cured all the sudden. I like movies that make me question myself, that make me think about how would I react to a certain situation.
JMO.
so unoriginal...
