If im 17 and have an id and my friend doesnt can I still buy both tickets for a !

Question:

If im 17 and have an id and my friend doesnt can I still buy both tickets for a rated R movie?

Answers: Depends on the theatre. I used to be a manager for a few different theatres and the policy is only the parent or guardian of someone with out an ID can buy his/her ticket. And If one person came up to buy more than one ticket we asked for all of the ID's of the people watching. Now, that was the policy. Was it followed? probably not. Don't go to an older person selling tickets. Try going to a teen in the box office. Chances are they don't care who they sell tickets to! Source(s):
Experience try buying both tickets ahead of time, by yourself, cuz then they don't bother u when u r going in. i have tried that before, and when u go in, they don't bug u. yes To be perfectly legal yes you can buy the tickets; but the theater can refuse your friend admittance. That will probably never happen, but could, legally. According to the rules a parent or legal guardian are the only ones allowed to escort under 17's to movies rated R. A million years ago I used to take my younger brother and younger dates to R movies when I was 18-20. The theater don't really care as they are there to sell tickets. It is up to the local law enforcement and their views of the "R" rating and how to enforce it!
