I am having a Halloween FrightFest at my house, and I am wondering what would be the best horror movies to show.

It All the Saw movies . I love the third the best. Also, The messengers, of Course you must show Wrong Turn. I find Spiceworld pretty scary !
I'd go for a mixture of types :
Gore : Evil Dead
Fun : Shaun of the Dead
Classic : Dead of Night
Modern : Saw
Scary : Ring Go for a series of terror movies. The "Halloween" series (obviously), "Nightmare on Elm Street", "House of 1,000 Corpses", "Dawn of the Dead". Try not to get anything with a "happy" or "resolved" ending. That's kinda hard with most movies though. The movies I listed above don't have this resolved or happy ending so you still feel paranoid afterwards. Another good piece to add is "Cannibal Holocaust". It's difficult to get, but I think it's worth it. It doesn't have a whole lot of special effects (some say it doesn't have any), but the creep factor you get at the end is pretty cool. A lot of people call it a snuff film and say it's depicting the real deaths of those killed and used real bodies (hence the difficulty of attaining it). Another good series of movies that were believed to be snuff films, are the "Guinea Pig" series. Those are good for visual stimulation, but are in Japanese and have subtitles. Awesome special effects though (these were investigated by the Japanese government and proven to be works of entertainment and special effects)! Happy Halloween! 1.1408, 2. The hills have eyes, 6. hostel, 7. saw (any part) 8. The Freddy movies, 9. the haunting, 10. house on haunted hill, 11. The grudge, 12. The ring, 13. The exorcist, 14. I know what you did last summer, 15. Scream, 16. Valentine, 17. Halloween ( any part), 18. Silent hill, 19. The exorcism of Emily rose, 20. The others.
I hope you have a great time at your party! If you're looking for the traditional scary movies maybe do a Halloween marathon with the best of the Michael Myers films. You could do a theme party with any series, Nightmare on Elm St, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scream, the Exorcist, Jaws, etc. If you want a "smarter" scary movie go with something like Silence of the Lambs, Seven, or Hitchcock flicks like the Birds or Psycho.
Some of my other favorites are the Omen, the Shining, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Dawn of the Dead, Fright Night, House of Wax (original), the Changeling, and Salem's Lot. Also, the Ring and the Grudge scared the living crap out of me the first time I saw them. Good luck with your party! The original "Halloween" (if it's a Halloween party this is a MUST!)
If you want something lighter and humorous for later, "Tales from the Crypt," "Scream," or "Shaun of the Dead" would be good choices.
More good choices:

"It" would be good, if you don't mind a long movie (3 hours, I think)
Any of the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series
Any of the "Friday the 13th" series
"The Exorcist"
My advice is to stick to the originals because they're generally the best ones even if you've seen them more than once. I think the Ring!!! i dont know why that one scared me so much!!!
Also 'A tale of two sisters' is also really really good!!! I think I would do a blend of movies, maybe some abstract ones as well. Since it's a party, most people have probably seen the classics like Halloween, Friday the 13th, Saw etc, so why not branch out and show some odd ones.
The Stendahl Syndrome - Directed by Dario Argento is a standout classic! It's full of twists and turns and really keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's bloody but it is lesser known and many of the people at your party will probably not have seen it.
Aftermath - Directed by Nacho Cerda - This one is only 30 minutes long and will sicken and gross out almost everyone but it is very well shot and there is a twisted story line. It's completely worth your time but some guests might need a barf bag! There is no dialogue so that may turn some people off but there is a mix of beautiful classical music, great photography and absolutely revolting images! This is a must see and it will shock all.
Phantasm - Directed by Don Coscarelli - This is a classic that takes place in a morgue, it's a little dated but it has some great scares. Crank up the soundtrack and go for a great ride!
The Beast of Yucca Flatts - Directed by Coleman Francis - Show this as a laugh riot at the end of the night so that your guests don't go home scared. You will laugh, cry, and not believe that this thing was ever released! A lot of people credit Plan 9 from Outer Space as being the worst movie of all time, I'm sorry but this loser has to be the worst! You seriously need to see it to believe it. It would be a good night capper for sure and everyone will leave laughing and probably wondering where the heck you found such odd picks! Good luck and Happy Haunting!
