Have you ever heard or seen something eg a movie or story that left you speechle!

Question:

Have you ever heard or seen something eg a movie or story that left you speechless??

like one of those stories that just changes you as a person!! what was it??

Answers: Most recently, it was the movie Cinderella Man.

They're so poor that Rene Zellweger (sp) adds water to the milk to make a quart because the milkman wouldn't leave them milk.

The daughter is hungry and Russell Crowe is sitting at the table about to eat his share of the meal. He tells his daughter about this dream he had where he ate all this stuff, (and he lists all this wonderful sounding food), and that he woke up and because he had eaten so much in his dream he wasn't hungry and gives her his share of the food.

I came from a very poor family and that scene took me back; I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

Good question... star for you!

--Lee Ann You mean like Jessica Alba? =) The end of Shindler's List when Liam Neeson breaks down about his belongings. "This car could have been 20 more people, this ring 5." Crushed me. Never cried so hard at a movie before (including when I was five and saw Old Yeller get shot). Well nothing changed me, but I surely did had a near heart attack on watching the thriller Saw and Butterfly effect... Man were they like, Thrilling! The movie: "The Pursuit of Happyness"

It makes you realize that no matter how crappy your life is, you're better off than so many other people. The fact that you actually are able to sit on your couch and WATCH that movie probably means that you're better off than hundreds of millions of people across the world. THE SAW TRILOGY! The story (and movie) of Steven Stayner.

It leaves me speechless because that family has went through sooo much. Everytime I think about my family problems, I think about that story and say to myself "it could be worst."

Recap for those who don't know.....

Steven was a kid who was kidnapped by a pedophile named Purnell at the age of 7, and was held captive for 7 years. In those 7 years, he was abused, molested, etc...

At the age of 14, he escaped, and he was eventually killed in a motorcycle accident.

To top the story off, his older brother is a convicted serial killer. They called him the "Yosemite Killer".

Like I said, when you think your family is going through rough times, remember, it could always be worst.

If anyone is interested in seeing the movie based on his story, the name of the movie is called "I Know My First Name is Steven". crash! its the best movie ever & they really put things in perpective! but theres is a whole crap load of crusing but its a great movie! i hope u watch it or have watched it! I loved Babel. I loved the idea behind how Gods decided to tease us by making different languages and now we have a language barrier.
I've been in so many situations where I just could not get through to another person due to language and its painful. Also I come from a really weird family background which impacts my future, and in this movie aswell it showed how where you come from can greatly influence what you do. i dont know if it changed me or not but the one story that touched my heart was-'the notebook' by nicholas sparks(didnt like the movie as much as the book)
i seem to cry unconsolably every time i read it!
